Cell-to-cell heterogeneity of phosphate gene expression in yeast is controlled by alternative transcription, 14-3-3 and Spl2

چکیده

Dependent on phosphate availability the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae expresses either low or high affinity transporters. In presence of cells still express levels transporter Pho84. The regulator Spl2 is expressed in approximately 90% cells, and not remaining cells. Here we report that deletion RRP6, encoding an exonuclease degrading non-coding RNA, BMH1, major 14-3-3 isoform, resulted less expressing SPL2 increased RNA transcribed from sequences upstream coding region. stimulates its own expression PHO84 ensuing a positive feedback. Upon region responsible for transcription almost all SPL2. These results indicate cell-to-cell variation dependent specific part promoter controlled by Bmh1 Spl2.

Regulation of Arabidopsis 14 - 3 - 3 gene expression by GABA

The function in plants of the non-protein amino acid, γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is poorly understood. In this study, we show that GABA down-regulates the expression of a large subset of 14-3-3 gene family members in Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings in a calcium, ethylene and abscisic acid-dependent manner. Gene expression is not affected when seedlings are supplied with glutamate, a precursor of...

Methylation of 14-3-3σ gene and prognostic significance of 14-3-3σ expression in non-small cell lung cancer

Loss of 14-3-3σ expression through DNA methylation has been associated with carcinogenesis and the prognosis for various cancer types. Detection of methylation of the gene in serum may be useful for diagnostic utility. The present study aimed to investigate the correlation between 14-3-3σ methylation level in 36 paired tumor tissues of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and matched serum using ...

14-3-3 Is Stimulated by IL-3 and Promotes Cell Proliferation

IL-3 plays important roles in the growth and survival of hematopoietic progenitor cells, processes modeled in studies of the IL-3-dependent cell line Ba/F3. To gain insights into molecular mechanisms governing cell fate, we examined the patterns of proteins up-regulated following stimulation of Ba/F3 cells with IL-3. Through two-dimensional electrophoresis and proteomicsbased approaches, we ide...

Site-Directed Mutagenesis, Expression and Biological Activity of E. coli 5-Enolpyruvylshikimate 3-Phosphate Synthase Gene

Site-directed mutagenesis (SDM) as a powerful technique was used to change two important and conserved amino acids in 5-enolpyruvylshikimate 3- phosphate synthase (EPSPS) gene of E. coli. The mutations changed glycine 96 to alanine and alanine 183 to threonine. These two amino acids are very important for intraction of the wide spectrum herbicide, glyphosate, to EPSP synthase enzymes. By design...

Regulation of transcription by Saccharomyces cerevisiae 14-3-3 proteins.

14-3-3 proteins form a family of highly conserved eukaryotic proteins involved in a wide variety of cellular processes, including signalling, apoptosis, cell-cycle control and transcriptional regulation. More than 150 binding partners have been found for these proteins. The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has two genes encoding 14-3-3 proteins, BMH1 and BMH2. A bmh1 bmh2 double mutant is unviabl...
